Levis Strauss died

I have always wondered whether he was still alive or not. He was, but not any more. The great man of the 20th century is now gone.

Knitted shoes

A friend of mine knitted a pair of shoes for my son. So sweet!
She is also married to a Tunisian man.

My autumn days

Perhaps autumn is the best season in Japan (spring is also nice).
I take a walk with my son almost everyday,
sometimes have something to eat outside
(my son tries to take everything I eat),
or buy things for my son (yesterday a pair of leg warmer and a red little harmonica).

Autumn sky

Perhaps the sky is the most beautiful in autumn in Japan.
Daytime.
And dusk...

First halal canteen at Kyoto Univerisity

Supervised by the Islam Culture Center in Kyoto, a halal canteen was opened at Kyoto University yesterday, perhaps the first attempt at Japanese university. It is only a part of the already-existing canteen, but is welcomed by 500 Muslim students and staff at the university. (photo here).

8 months old

My son has turned 8 month old. The shoes he wears come from Tunisia. A present from my husband's sister. Fit him well. He now has two teeth. Eats yogurt in the morning and some baby's food in the evening. Has begun to move forward, a little by little. Wants to grab everything around him, especially things that adults have, like a glass of water I drink or newspaper I read.

Wild lily

In the field at the back of my parents' home, I found a lot of wild lilies.

The sky is blue. The season is shifting to autumn.

7 months today!

Weighs about 9 kg. Plump belly, strong legs. Spreads his arms when he wants to be picked up. Cries when someone takes away his toy. Takes his spoon and tries to put the food into his mouth. Eats baby's biscuit. Likes to play with the computer keyboard, mobile phone and TV remote controller. Smiles and laughs a lot, brightening up everyone's life instantly!

12 babies at once???

It is rare to find an article on Tunisia in newspapers in Japan. Shame, but I guess it means the country is in peace.

Yesterday, however, I found the word 'Tunisia' at the corner of the paper. It reported a pregnant woman in her 30s in Kafsa has 12 babies in her womb. 6 boys and 6 girls! Her husband says that she is really happy and is looking forward to meeting them in good health.

Is this true? Is it possible? The source of the news is French public radio, the article says.
