Hand-made sweater

Long time away from blogging. I have been busy... My son has grown a lot! He is now 11 month old and only one month to have his first birthday! Time flies...

A gorgeous hand-knitted sweater arrived from Canada yesterday. It was knitted by the elderly lady (perhaps around 80 years old?) I knew from the UK. I haven't met her for more than 10 years, but we have kept in touch somehow. It is so nice to think that there is someone on the other side of the world, thinking of my little son...

Levis Strauss died

I have always wondered whether he was still alive or not. He was, but not any more. The great man of the 20th century is now gone.

9 months old

My son has become 9 months old!
He likes to eats grown-ups' food. Today he had vinegared rice from my sushi. He likes sweets, too.
He likes playing the piano, and playing outside. He eats everything including falling leaves.

Knitted shoes

A friend of mine knitted a pair of shoes for my son. So sweet!
She is also married to a Tunisian man.

My autumn days

Perhaps autumn is the best season in Japan (spring is also nice).
I take a walk with my son almost everyday,
sometimes have something to eat outside
(my son tries to take everything I eat),
or buy things for my son (yesterday a pair of leg warmer and a red little harmonica).

Autumn sky

Perhaps the sky is the most beautiful in autumn in Japan.
Daytime.
And dusk...

First halal canteen at Kyoto Univerisity

Supervised by the Islam Culture Center in Kyoto, a halal canteen was opened at Kyoto University yesterday, perhaps the first attempt at Japanese university. It is only a part of the already-existing canteen, but is welcomed by 500 Muslim students and staff at the university. (photo here).
